Bridging Clinical Psychology & Global Service Excellence
So much of what people feel in restaurants happens in the in-between moments. The pause before the menu arrives. The wait for a table. The quiet stretch when you’re sitting alone and deciding whether you belong there. Those are often the moments when comfort is either built or broken.
As a Clinical Behavioral Analyst and former Delta Air Lines Flight Attendant, I created The Solo Dining Directory to bring emotional understanding into spaces that are often designed only for efficiency. It is a curated guide to restaurants that genuinely welcome women dining alone, focused less on food ratings and more on comfort cues. Each listing is informed by the experiences of women across the U.S. who regularly solo dine and reflect on what made them feel at ease, respected, and seen.
From my early years in flight to recent features in The Food Institute, Food Network, Essence, and HuffPost, my focus continues to focus on showing how thoughtful environments can turn being alone at a table into something dignified, and even restorative.
