Text-Back Anxiety Post-breakup

Text-Back Anxiety Post-breakup

Although all the texting can be draining after a breakup, it’s important to try to stay present for key people or friendships can gradually fade.

How to Reclaim Friendships After Ghosting Them.

1. Pin It to Win It: Got a text from a friend you love but not feeling up to responding?  Pin it to the top of your chat! This way, you can read it when you're ready and respond at your own pace. Once you've replied, unpin it and let the ball roll back into their court.

2. Take a Social Media Break: Feeling overwhelmed by constant notifications? Consider a social media detox, especially from apps like Instagram. Stepping away can actually help you reconnect with real-life friends. You'll be more motivated to reach out and have genuine conversations when you're not constantly scrolling.

3. Prioritize Your Closest Connections: While it's tough to stay connected with everyone, focus on your closest friends. Even if you're not texting daily, make an effort to check in regularly. Remember, a little effort goes a long way in maintaining strong friendships.

4. Embrace Imperfect Communication: Don't stress about being the perfect texter. Sometimes, less is more. If you're not feeling up to a long conversation, a quick message or a phone call can be just as meaningful.

5. Find Your Balance: The constant pressure to be connected can be exhausting. Find a communication style that works for you and your friends. Whether it's texting, calling, or meeting up in person, the most important thing is to stay connected on your own terms.

Remember, it's all about what works for you and your relationships. It’s okay to seek out the help from a professional therapist if you need more help maintaining your wellbeing and friendships.
